Cimas medical aid society has opened a one stop clinic in Harare East, Manresa at Lafarge Complex.

The Clinic is part of efforts by Cimas to provide easy access, affordable and quality healthcare solutions to its members and the public.

The opening of the clinic in Harare East, Cimas said  was in response to a call by Harare East residence for the medial aid society to provide easily accessible healthcare solutions.

“Harare East, we heard you! Cimas is proud to introduce to you your new Manresa clinic to provide access to affordable and quality healthcare solutions. Please visit the clinic at Lafarge Complex,” announced Cimas on its official Facebook page.

Cimas, on its official website, said that whenever it opens a clinic like the one in Manresa, they take into cognizance the fact that patients do not want to be moving all over for related services, as a result all their clinics are a one stop shop for the convenience of  patients.

“All specimens are collected at the clinic and sent to the laboratory by the clinic making sure our clinics provide a one stop-shop for the convenience of the patients.”

In addition to specimen collection the new one stop clinic will provide the following services:

  • General Practitioner Consultation
  • Nurse Consultation
  • HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC); i.e. Rapid and the Elisa Test.
  • General Counseling; i.e on chronic conditions and social issues.
  • ARV Treatment
  • Drug dispensing; including haemodialysis drugs and cancer drugs.
  • Medical Examinations; on cash basis only.
  • Family Planning methods; i.e. injectables, the contraceptive pill, Jadelle. Condoms are supplied for free.
  • Pap smear procedures are also done.
  • Vaccinations available for; i.e. Yellow fever, antirabies, Hepatitis B, Antitetanus.

The clinic also has an in house Pharmacy where patients can fill in their prescriptions.

“However in order that we do not compete with retail Pharmacies we are only allowed to dispense to those patients that have been seen by the Clinic doctors. Any prescriptions from other providers will have to be presented to other retail pharmacies.

“For other Medical Aids drugs will be dispensed for cash unless there is an agreement with the Medical Aid to dispense drugs,” says Cimas.

The clinic will attend to any Cimas member with a valid membership card or cash patients.

For those on other medical aid schemes  such as FML, Generation, Altfin, Masca their Medical Aid  has to get into an agreement with Healthcare Services Division first before their membership cards can be accepted.

Cimas has 10 clinics nationwide available for primary health services and prescription medicine, including the newest at Lafarge Complex, in Manresa.
