First Mutual Holdings Limited is inviting suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill vacancies that have arisen within the Group under its Funeral Business.

POSITION 1: FINANCE MANAGER (LOCATION- HARARE)

The Job
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
o Corporate financial planning
o Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
o Cash flow management
o Budgeting and budgetary control,
o Preparation or review of ad hoc analysis for projects
o Enterprise Risk Management
o Tax planning,
o General Company administration duties.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Degree in Accounting/Finance
o A professional qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA is an added advantage
o Four (4) years’ experience in a similar or related environment, two (2) of which should be in a similar role.
o Excellent interpersonal skills, mature and self-motivated
o Ability to communicate at all levels
o Results Oriented
o Good Self-management
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 2: BRANCH SUPERVISOR (LOCATIONS: HARARE, BULAWAYO, GWERU, MASVINGO, MUTARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
o Supervises branch to ensure good service delivery.
o Monitors collection of payments for services rendered.
o Enforces compliance with company regulations and municipal regulations and bylaws as well as health and safety standards in the mortuary and burials.
o Inventory Management of stock and equipment.
o Manages the branch fleet of vehicles and ensuring that the vehicles are maintained in good condition.
o Work planning and discipline management for branch staff.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Degree or Diploma in Insurance/Administration or equivalent
o Five (5) years of experience in funeral services, three (3) of which must be at a supervisory level
o Excellent communication skills both oral and written
o Ability to communicate at all levels
o Ability to lead a team and make quick decisions
o Results Oriented
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 3: WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR (LOCATION- HARARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
o Coffins and Caskets production planning.
o Ensures compliance with company regulations as well as health and safety regulation.
o Gathers market intelligence to continuously produce competitive products.
o Ensures that all machinery is working and is maintained as per schedule.
o Manages the procurement of raw materials.
o Inventory management.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Degree or Diploma in Wood Technology/Carpentry
o Five (5) years of experience in coffin manufacturing at a supervisory level
o Excellent communication skills both oral and written
o Ability to communicate at all levels
o Results Oriented
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 4: FUNERAL CONSULTANT (LOCATIONS: HARARE, BULAWAYO, GWERU, MASVINGO, MUTARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
o Prepares funeral services quotations and recommends products to clients.
o Processes repatriations and expatriations.
o Assists bereaved families during bereavements.
o Records and keeps safe personal effects of the deceased and hands them to the family members.
o Monitors movements of stock and personal effects.
o Estimates distances to be travelled by vehicles in order to avail fuel required.
o Maintains vehicle movement and maintenance records.
o Assists in the supervising of mortuary and burials, housekeeping and ensuring good health standards.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Diploma in Insurance or equivalent
o Clean Class four drivers’ license
o Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Office Packages
o Five (5) years of experience in a similar environment
o Good Communication skills oral or written
o Good interpersonal skills
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 5: SALES & CLIENT RELATIONSHIP OFFICER (LOCATION: HARARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
o Business growth through prospecting for funeral services, products and contracts.
o Negotiates sales contracts.
o Implements Client Relationship Management programmes.
o Monitors client servicing and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
o Gathers market intelligence on product performance and other relevant information.
o Formulates marketing plans for new products.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Diploma in Sales and/or Marketing.
o Three (3) years marketing experience in an insurance environment
o Experience in a funeral services environment is a distinct advantage
o Excellent communication skills both oral and written
o Ability to communicate at all levels
o Results Oriented
o Good Self-management
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 6: ACCOUNTS CLERK (LOCATIONS: HARARE, BULAWAYO, GWERU, MASVINGO, MUTARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
o Timeous request and provision of all bank statements.
o Attends and resolves all banking transaction queries.
o Performs bank reconciliations.
o Performs ledger reconciliations.
o Processes payments for clients and prepares weekly payments report.
o Daily disbursements of cash against authorized cash vouchers and requisitions.
o Prepares the audit file.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Diploma in Accounting or Finance
o Two (2) years of experience in a similar role
o Good Communication skills
o Appreciation of the Sage Accounting System is an added advantage.
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 7: RECEPTIONIST (LOCATIONS: HARARE, BULAWAYO, GWERU, MASVINGO, MUTARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
o Mans the reception desk.
o Receives and directs clients to relevant departments/ offices assistance.
o Ensures the reception area is well-kept.
o Receives phone calls on the switchboard and directs them to the relevant people.
o Records and reports telephone faults and manages telephone expenses

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Diploma in Secretarial Studies, Customer Services or equivalent.
o Six (6) months’ experience in a similar or related environment
o Excellent communication skills
o Ability to communicate at all levels
o Results Oriented

POSITION 8: UNDERTAKER (LOCATIONS: HARARE, BULAWAYO, GWERU, MASVINGO, MUTARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
o Prepares bodies for burial including washing, dressing and embalming.
o Processes documentation for burials and repatriation as delegated.
o Transports bodies and mourners to the burial site and performs burying and other driving duties.
o Keeps asset register for burial assets and reports any theft, missing assets, breakdown or damage.
o Records and safekeeping of personal effects.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Five (5) Ordinary Level passes including English Language
o Clean class one and class four drivers’ license
o Five (5) years of experience as an undertaker role of which two (2) must include bus driving duties
o Results oriented.
o Ability to work under Pressure.

POSITION 9: ASSISTANT UNDERTAKER (LOCATIONS: HARARE, BULAWAYO, GWERU, MASVINGO, MUTARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
o Assists in preparing bodies for burial including washing and dressing and embalming.
o Assists with processing documentation for burials and repatriation.
o Transports bodies and mourners to the burial site and performs burying and other driving duties as
delegated.
o Maintains an asset register for burial assets and reports any theft, missing assets, breakdown or damage.
o Records and safekeeping of personal effects.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Five (5) Ordinary level passes including English
o Clean class two or class four driver’s license
o Three (3) years of experience in an undertaking role
o Good Communication skills.
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 10: MACHINIST (LOCATION: HARARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties: –
o Wood cutting, carving and shaping in the manufacturing of coffins and caskets.
o Monitors the performance and maintenance of machines in order to ensure optimal efficiency.
o Maintains a service schedule of all the machinery and ensures adherence to the same.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Diploma in Wood Technology/Carpentry
o Two (2) years of experience in coffin manufacturing as a machine operator
o Good Communication skills
o Results Oriented
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 11: JOINER (LOCATION: HARARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties: –
o Assembling/Joining components of coffins and caskets.
o Applying veneer finish or paint.
o Trimming the inside of the coffins and caskets, and lacing.
o Fitting handles.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Certificate in Wood Technology/Carpentry
o Two (2) years’ experience in furniture manufacturing as joiner
o Coffin manufacturing experience is an added advantage
o Good Communication skills
o Results Oriented
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 12: SANDER (LOCATION: HARARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Machinist, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties: –
o Sanding to coffins and caskets.
o Crack-filling for coffin products.
o Assisting the machinist when operating the sanding machine.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Five (5) Ordinary levels including Mathematics and English.
o One (1) year experience in furniture manufacturing.
o Coffin manufacturing experience is an added advantage.
o Good Communication skills
o Results Oriented
o Ability to work under Pressure

POSITION 13: GENERAL HAND (LOCATIONS: HARARE, BULAWAYO, GWERU, MASVINGO, MUTARE)

The Job
Reporting to the Accounts Clerk, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties: –
o Maintains cleanliness of business premises.
o Receives, records and distributes all mail.
o Assists with banking activities.
o Assists with ad hoc back office work as delegated.

The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
o Five (5) Ordinary level passes including English Language
o Class three or four drivers’ license will be an added advantage
o 6 months’ experience in a similar or relevant passes
o Good interpersonal skills
