NicozDiamond’s Company Secretary Gloria Zvaravanhu, was presented with the Individual Governance Professional award, at the recently held Corporate Governance Awards.
The Corporate Governance Awards were introduced in 2013, by the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe (ICSAZ). The Awards aim to promote Zimbabwe’s corporate governance standards by recognizing corporate governance practitioners and organisations.
Individual Governance Professional awards were presented to Gloria Zvaravanhu and to Innscor Africa’s Group Company Secretary Andrew Lorimer.
Gloria Zvaravanhu was awarded the individual gong for the most improved rankings in the ICSAZ Excellence in Corporate Governance Awards and to Andrew Lorimer for consistently winning awards over the last five editions of the ECGA awards.
A Special Achievement Award was presented to commercial lawyer Canaan Dube for the role he played as chairman of the Project Board that came up with the National Code on Corporate Governance (ZimCode).
In his welcome remarks ICSAZ president Paradza Paradza said the institute hoped to continue to expand the awards to include all sectors of the economy.
The awards ceremony, is held annually by ICSAZ, it took place on Wednesday evening (29 November) at the Harare International Conference Centre.
