More than 100 people came together in Harare, Zimbabwe for the first micro insurance course that was organised by the Insurance and Pensions Commission and Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe. The insurers shared ideas, built connections and worked together to shape the future of micro insurance in Zimbabwe.
Dubbed “Fundamentals of Microinsurance and Micro Pensions,” the course was facilitated by world renowned microinsurance expert Ayandev Saha, and was aimed at building capacity inside insurers in Zimbabwe and to help insurers develop microinsurance products that suit the Zimbabwean environment.
Delegates brought the short course to life with discussion, presentations, questions and debate throughout the two days.
Networking, sharing ideas and learning from each other was a vital part of the first ever such course in microinsurance. Delegates were at the the heart of the two day programme. They shared both fictional and existing microinsurance products, best-practice, challenges and solutions to the microinsurance products currently in the market.
Delegates also came together discussing the designing, underwriting and pricing of microinsurance products to achieve financial inclusion for every Zimbabwean
Celebrated Ayandev Saha, gave an informative display that helped to ensure that everyone at the short course had much to learn, and got more than they anticipated.
